Copy and Link Registration Mode
The Copy and Link registration option is available only when documents are registered automatically from ProjectWise to ALIM Web. For more information, see "Configuring Synchronization Options", in AssetWise Director Help.
When using this registration option, the file physically
resides in both
AssetWise
ALIM and
ProjectWise. A critical principle for the exchange
of engineering information between
AssetWise
ALIM and
ProjectWise is that at any one time, only one system
has control over modifying that information, and further that it is obvious to
the end user whether
AssetWise
ALIM or
ProjectWise has control. In order to control this
procedure, the following options should be used in
AssetWise Director or
ALIM Web:
- Check Out to ProjectWise: Checks out the document to ProjectWise and make changes to file in ProjectWise. See Check Out to ProjectWise.
- Check In from ProjectWise: Checks in the document from ProjectWise and applies the changes that were made in ProjectWise. See Check In from ProjectWise.
- Cancel Check Out to ProjectWise: Reverts all changes that were made in ProjectWise. See Cancel Check Out to ProjectWise.
